Everyone has a worldview! The perspective they have guides and directs how they live. However, few people spend much time intentionally building this worldview. Instead, it is formed by the incessant barrage of information they receive over the Internet, from TV/movies, or in casual conversation with friends.
The overabundance of unfiltered, and bias information renders most people easy prey for deception. To prove my point, ponder the views that you now hold concerning Christianity. Where did they come from? Have you ever read the Bible, or parts of it? Have you ever done research on the Truthfulness (accuracy) of the Bible? If you disagree with it, what evidence do you have to support your conclusions?
In short, we all have a worldview … and we all have to answer the same questions in life. Read through the following questions and give your best answers. Remember, each answer needs to be backed up with evidence and facts.
Questions that we all have to answer in life.
· How did I get here (come into existence)?
· What happens to me when I die (is there life after death)?
· What is the meaning/purpose of my life?
· How do I decide my morality (my moral decisions)?
The Question of God?
· Is there a Supreme Being (God)?
· If so which one is the True God?
· What does God teach about salvation, Hell, Heaven, and Righteousness?
· Can I know Him? (If so how?)
Key Question Jesus Christ asked His disciples.
· Who do men say that I am? (Matthew 16:13)
· Who do you say that I am? (Matthew 16:15)
· Who did Peter say that He was? (Matthew 16:16)
· How did Peter get this answer? (Matthew 16:17)
What is God’s standard for getting into Heaven?
· Is there a Hell and a Heaven that is the final resting place of your soul?
· What is the standard God uses for getting into Heaven (having eternal life)?
· How are you doing? (Will you make it?)
How can a Holy God allow sinners into Heaven?
· What is sin? Are you a sinner?
· What is your standard for sin? How does it ‘square up’ with the Ten Commandments of God? Have you ever broken one of His Commandments?
· If God is Perfectly Righteous, how can He allow a sinner into Heaven?
· If we reject God’s Commandments, why would we want to go where He is (in Heaven)?
I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist!
· How much total knowledge of the world do you have? How can you say for sure, since you don’t hold ALL knowledge, there is no God?
· If the ‘Theory of Evolution’ is correct, how can ‘nothing produce something?’ This has never ever happened before!
· What is the atheist’s response for the millions of evil people across history that have died with no equitable punishment for their crimes? (i.e. Hitler, Stalin)
· If there is no God what can a society do to deter evil in the world … especially when most criminals don’t get caught? What credible deterrent is there from committing a crime?
The worldview(s) you hold matter in our lives. They greatly affect the hundreds of decisions that you make each day. The more confident that you are answering the big questions in life (how did I get here, what happens when I die), the more able you will be to answer the smaller ones (how I decide my morality, what is the meaning of my life).
